We Eat the Earth explores the ways in which our collective appetite reshapes the Earth and how the production of nutrients required for agriculture impacts our political and physical environments.
From Sweden to Western Sahara, England to occupied Palestine, Germany to the Netherlands, this book maps the material flows of nitrogen, potassium and phosphate fertiliser between eight key sites. We Eat the Earth reveals the destabilising global impact of fertiliser production and the devastating environmental and socio-political consequences of its extraction, production and management. Finally, through its focus on a small, but expanding group of farmers committed to producing food without the use of fertiliser, the project also offers a hopeful view for the future of agriculture.

Payment: Payment is taken in full at the time of order via card, processed through Wise. Please contact if you would prefer to make a direct bank payment.

Delivery Policy
Orders are dispatched within 2 business days of payment being received.
Delivery is included in the £40 price — no additional shipping charge.
Estimated delivery time after dispatch: 3 business days, depending on destination.
Orders are sent to the shipping address provided at checkout. Please ensure this is correct, as I am not responsible for non-delivery due to an incorrect address supplied by the buyer.
If your order hasn’t arrived within 7 business days of dispatch, please contact studio@crystalbennes.com.
Refund and Cancellation Policy
All sales are final. We Eat the Earth is non-refundable once an order has been placed.
Order cancellation: You may cancel your order for a full refund only if it has not yet been dispatched. To cancel, contact studio@crystalbennes.com as soon as possible after placing your order.
Damaged or faulty items: If your book arrives damaged or faulty, please contact studio@crystalbennes.com within 3 days of delivery with photos of the damage. A replacement or refund will be offered at the seller’s discretion in these cases.
Non-delivery: If an order does not arrive and cannot be traced, a replacement or refund will be offered once non-delivery is confirmed with the courier.
This policy does not affect your statutory rights under consumer protection law.
